- Ginosko, modular construction manufacturer
- Technology
- HID ultra-wideband (UWB) real-time location: battery tags and fixed anchors
The question
Building homes in a factory is closer to car assembly than to a construction site, but the work is less repetitive and harder to measure. Where do crews spend their time? Which stations wait for materials? Where do modules stall?
Why UWB
Most tracking only needs to know which room or zone something is in. On Ginosko’s line the stations sit close together, so we use ultra-wideband from HID: small battery tags and fixed anchors that locate each tag to within tens of centimetres, several times a second.
What Ginosko sees
- Time spent at each station and waiting between stations, by team rather than by individual.
- How long each module stays in each stage of the line, and where it queues.
- Restricted-area entries for safety, logged automatically.
From Lab to production
The project started as a Lab proof of concept and is now live in production. The hardest part was never location accuracy, it was deciding what not to show, and designing simple, trustworthy views supervisors use every day.
