Why it matters

When an alarm sounds, the first question is simple: is everyone out? Paper roll calls and badge-out readers at the door answer it slowly, and only for people who remembered to badge.

How it works

  • Small BLE beacons, worn on badges or attached to equipment, broadcast a signal several times a second.
  • Gateways mounted in the building hear those signals and report which zone each beacon is in.
  • InThing receives the zone updates, shows live presence on the floor plan and, during an evacuation, counts people arriving at each assembly point.
  • Anyone still inside appears on a short list with their last known zone, so responders know where to look.

Where we are

The connector is being deployed to our demo environment, and we are measuring response times and the experience for safety teams before a customer pilot. Presence data is shown in aggregate wherever individual tracking is not needed.
